Kay Juricek 

• Born in Crete, Nebraska and raised on third and fourth generation family farms in the rolling hills of Saline County. 

• Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with an emphasis on lithography and painting. 

• Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science from Columbia University, New York, N.Y. 

• Worked as a librarian, records manager and human resources analyst for various mining and engineering companies as well as state and federal government agencies. Kay was also a faculty member at  the University of Wyoming and the Colorado School of Mines. 

• In 1990 began painting portraits on a commission basis, as well as still life paintings and landscapes in acrylic, oil and pastel.  Kay has exhibited her award-winning work in galleries, publications, and in juried and invitational shows both locally and nationally. 

• Now paints in her Denver studio and at every opportunity travels throughout the American West.
